Our Dry Film Lubricants
Technical Data Lubsil L31
Product-No.: 4931 | IMDS-No.: 977768
Technical Datasheet
Lubsil L31 is a waterbased suspension of high-performance solid lubricants. It forms a transparent dry lubricating film with excellent sliding properties, especially for precise friction control of fasteners, applied dip-spin. Lubrication performance is, compared to Lubsil L11 and Lubsil L21, significantly enhanced.
Features and Benefits
After application and drying, Lubsil L31 forms an almost invisible, transparent layer with excellent sliding properties. Thanks to its optimal processing, it enables cost-efficient coating of components.
- Constant, low friction values with low standard deviation
- High abrasion resistance
- Barely noticeable visually, UV-detectable
- Strong adhesion to a wide variety of materials
- No influence on other material properties
- Not subject to hazardous labeling requirements
- Very well suited for automatic feeding and screwing systems
- Reduced insertion torques for chipboard screws
Typical Applications
Lubsil L31 is used for bulk parts which are to be coated with a dry film to control friction properties. The coating provides defined and predictable coefficients of friction, making assembly processes easier and faster. Typical areas of application include:
- Chipboard and wood construction screws
- Electroplated (Zn, ZnNi etc.) fasteners
- Tap tight applications
- Stainless steel and plastic fasteners
- Rivets
- Dowels
- Anchor screws
- Crimp nuts
Application Remarks
- Lubsil L31 is supplied as a concentrate - observe frost protection!
- Dilute with water (at least drinking quality) before use. Add the water while stirring constantly.
- The parts to be coated must be free of grease.
- Preheating the components (approx. 30-50 °C) before coating can improve the results.
- After coating, drying should ideally be carried out with warm air at 50-60°C.
- To avoid condensation and correlated corrosion issues, coated parts should not be packed until they have completely cooled down to ambient temperature.
- The pH value of the solution should be checked regularly and should always be above 7.5 to avoid precipitation.
- The bath concentration should be checked regularly (instructions are available on request).
- Excessive foaming due to strong agitation should be avoided. If necessary, the defoamer Lubsil AF-L can be used.
- Make-up concentration: 30 - 50Vol% (contact us for consultation)
